Kokopelli is a kachina - a spirit figure. He carries seeds and plays a flute to assist their germination. He is a fertility figure like Pan and Orpheus. Original image of Kokopelli is from Hopi rock art in Utah.

These images are derived from the chaos of happenstance, an analogue/digital mashup. Part of the process takes several months when the 'base' image is subjected to various random acts of decay. I try to let my subconscious influence the subjects and it's interesting to me that horses feature in the first two thaumatic images. Carl Jung observed that the horse represents the intuitive aspects of human nature; Freud thought that the symbol of the horse represents sexual potency. I think they can both be right.
